Herd on the Street - interesting insights on DAOs
Opportunities - ways you can get involved with Llama
1. Updates from Llama 🦙
We’ve joined Lens Protocol! Follow us at llamaxyz.lens.
Aave
We completed two asset listings, stMATIC and MaticX, on Aave’s V3 Polygon market. Our listing for stMATIC was executed on September 11th and is now live with $274k of TVL. MaticX is also now available for borrowing and currently has $51k of supplied TVL.
We also shared an updated version of our proposal for a 12-month engagement with Aave on the DAO’s forum. The proposal outlines our planned initiatives to support the Aave ecosystem and focuses on treasury management, analytics, and growth. We’re thankful for all of the thoughtful comments that were raised by the community over the last two weeks. The proposal will go live on Snapshot soon.
Nouns
We have continued to improve the back end infrastructure and client needed to power Pronouns, a new Nouns interface for power users. We’ve been hard at work adding the finishing touches to the new front-end.
Stay tuned for an announcement on Pronouns later this week!
Public Goods Alliance
Our Radicle x Gitcoin Public Goods Alliance has passed both DAOs’ on-chain governance processes and the proposal has been executed. Radicle received 500,000 GTC, while Gitcoin received 680,272 RAD.
Votes from the received tokens have been delegated to two multisigs, one controlled by Gitcoin DAO members, and another controlled by Radicle members. These multisigs will be use to vote in the partner DAO’s proposals. We’re excited to see how Gitcoin and Radicle’s partnerships and integrations can grow over time, and how this alliance can help expand the public goods ecosystem over time.
2. Herd on the Street
GOO (Gradual Ownership Optimization) - Dave White, Frankie, Transmissions11
The research team at Paradigm outlines a mechanism for how NFT communities with fungible tokens can avoid divergences between the two groups of token holders.
DAOs are not corporations: where decentralization in autonomous organizations matters - Vitalik Buterin
Vitalik offers his thoughts on DAOs, when decentralized decision-making works best, and how DAOs might learn from both corporate governance and political science.
3. Opportunities
If you’re a Solidity engineer looking to work on on-chain governance proposals, apply to join our community! You will get to work with a talented group of engineers and deploy smart contracts for top protocols like Aave, Balancer, Gitcoin, Uniswap, and Radicle, among others.
