1. Updates from Llama 🦙

We welcomed three new llamas to the pack - welcome to Kristin, Scott, and 0xkydo. Kristin and Scott are both analytics/Dune wizards that will build helpful dashboards for our partner DAOs. 0xkydo, meanwhile, brings strong expertise in tokenomics and governance. We’re excited to add all three to our herd.

In case you missed it, check out our latest Mirror post - DAO Strategic Partnerships: A Community-Centric Approach.

Gitcoin

Gitcoin's Treasury Diversification Working Group published a new forum post, Treasury Diversification Part II - Welcoming Strategic Partners. The post outlines the key criteria being sought in strategic partners for Gitcoin's treasury diversification.

Gitcoin is seeking partners who are DAO-Native and Mission-Aligned. The ideal partners are active in the DAO ecosystem and aligned with Gitcoin's mission of funding public goods.

Partners should also be of High Integrity. The working group will consider a partner's track record in past deals. Would Gitcoin be proud to announce a partnership with the candidate?

Value Add. The ideal partners for Gitcoin will have clear value adds. For instance, they may be:

  • Public-goods-native - have expressed a track record or clear interest in funding public goods

  • Advocates - have platforms and want to grow the narrative of public goods

  • Mechanism Designers - partners who can help with protocol development

While the working group has established that they'd like the diversification to be as DAO-native as possible, the diversification is open to any partner who fits the criteria above, including other DAOs, VCs, or individual contributors.

Are you interested in participating in the diversification, or do you know someone who might be a good fit to partner with Gitcoin? We encourage you to read the forum post and indicate interest through the sign up form.

You can follow all of the updates on our work with Gitcoin by checking the governance forum for weekly updates from the working group.

PoolTogether

Llamas BraveNewDeFi and Yuan Han Li continue their work with PoolTogether's treasury working group.

PTIP-54 was recently posted on the forum, proposing to move funds from PoolTogether v3 to PoolTogether v4 and Notional.

BraveNewDeFi recently wrote a forum post regarding PoolTogether's direction and POOL tokenomics. Brave emphasizes that 1) growth and 2) increasing revenue should be the main goals for PoolTogether, rather than debating whether to move to a veToken model. Brave also explores unique ways that PoolTogether could partner with other DAOs to boost community engagement (e.g. through PoolTogether's "delegated chance to win" feature).

Aave

Llamas Matthew Graham, dydymoon.eth, and JeanBrasse submitted a Snapshot to continue with the forum post proposing that Aave consolidate its V1, V2, & AMM Reserve Factors to one pool and deploy it to purchase CVX and earn yield.

The Snapshot is expected to pass later today.

2. Herd on the Street

Insights and articles from the DAO world, curated by our shepherds.

Why DAOs Need to Diversify - Shreyas Hariharan
DAOs should have 2-3 years of expenses in stables, yet the process of diversifying native tokens into stablecoins is often a tricky one. Shreyas breaks down 5 ways that DAOs can diversify into stablecoins and the pros/cons of each.

YIP-66: Streamlining contributor compensation - Yearn compensation group
Yearn's compensation group recently proposed a process to streamline future Yearn contributor payments. They propose that all Yearn contributors be paid in stablecoins. Additionally, they propose a "yDiscount" model whereby contributors can purchase YFI tokens at a discount up to their current monthly compensation. The proposal is expected to pass today on Snapshot.
