1. Updates from Llama 🦙
Aave
Llama recently proposed a strategic partnership between the Aave and Balancer communities. Given their long history of collaboration, Llama believes a formal token swap and partnership makes sense. Last week, we updated our proposal based on community feedback.
Our proposal will take place in 2 steps: the first proposal will have Aave swap governance tokens with Balancer. 200,000 BAL from Balancer’s Ecosystem fund will be exchanged for the USD equivalent value of AAVE from the DAO’s treasury, using the previous 90 day moving average price. Next, Llama will propose that Aave acquire an additional 100,000 BAL tokens through a bonding curve. With 300,000 BAL, Aave would be a top 30 holder of BAL and become Balancer’s largest strategic partner by BAL holding.
This BAL can be used to direct BAL tokens through the Ethereum mainnet pool gauge, giving Aave the ability to bootstrap new liquidity pools that grow TVL for the Aave protocol.
For more details, we encourage you to read our full proposals on Aave’s forum:
Yesterday, we also presented our proposal to the Balancer community.
Gitcoin
Llama continued its work on Gitcoin’s treasury diversification working group. In the last two weeks, the group has continued speaking with potential lead strategic partners. Additionally, the group prepared documents to answer partner questions around GTC token utility.
We expect our monthly financial report to be published next week, but you can check out any of our previous reports on Gitcoin’s forum.
dYdX
We were recently awarded a grant to build an analytics dashboard for dYdX. As part of the dashboard, we’ll provide insights into drivers of trading behavior and user activity on the platform.
Last week, we set up the basic infrastructure needed to display the data. This week, we continued downloading and processing data to prepare it for visualization on the dashboard.
